Hair is a natural frame for a woman's face, helping her to look more beautiful. However, sometimes you just want to dial it down and pull your hair back in a ponytail to show your pretty face. With a weave, it can be a bit tricky. But after practicing a few times, you'll be able to make a ponytail updo in no time.
- Skill level:
Things you need
- Hair serum
- Straightening gel
- Elastic band
- Ponytail weave
- Hair clips
Brush your hair to get all the knots and tangles out. Apply hair serum generously to the roots and tips. It's best to use a natural serum with vitamin A, B, C, biotin, inositol, folic acid, magnesium, sulphur, silica and zinc.
Apply straightening serum to your hair. Evenly coat the hair but don't apply too much or your hair will look greasy. Brush your hair.
Pull your hair back. Secure it with a scrunchie on the back of your head according to how high you want your updo. Scruncies prevent hair breakage so its better to use them instead of elastic bands. Comb the hair on the head to take out any bumps and make it flatter.
Secure the ponytail weave onto your ponytail utilising the built-in combs or hair clips.
Tuck in your own hair under the weave to hide it. Use hair clips to secure it and spray with mega hold hairspray. Brush the ponytail.
Make the Ponytail
Part your ponytail into two sections. Twist both sections in the same direction. Do this until you get to the bottom of the sections.
Twist the two sections onto each other in the opposite direction. Keep a firm grip on the hair so the twists don't unravel. Do this until you reach the end and secure with an elastic band matching your hair colour.
Wrap the ponytail around the root of the weave to form a bun. Tuck the end under the bun and secure it with a hair clip of your hair colour.
Fix the bun tightly on your head with hair clips.
Spray with hairspray to make the ponytail updo stay in place.
