How to Have Perfect Eyebrows

Updated February 21, 2017

Many women desire to have perfect eyebrows. A perfectly defined eyebrow adds dimension to the face and brings attention to the eyes. Tweezing or plucking the eyebrow is a useful technique to remove unwanted hair from the brow line. Many women prefer to wear their eyebrows thin or thick, depending on their individual taste. Sometimes it is necessary to pluck hairs that have gone astray; therefore, shaping the eyebrows with a pencil prior to plucking can make the task of shaping your brows easier.

Wash and dry your face thoroughly. Washing your face will remove any make-up, oil and dirt from your day to day activities. Smooth your eyebrows with an eyebrow brush or toothbrush.

Take a pencil (or similar item) and hold it parallel to the side of your nose. The area where your pencil and brow meets is where your eyebrow should begin. Take your eyebrow pencil and mark the start of your brow. Now, do the same for the other eye.

Stare straight ahead in the mirror and find the pupil of your eye. The pupils should be an indicator of the highest point (or arch) of your eyebrow. Mark this spot with a brow pencil. You may also take your pencil and hold it diagonally from your nose tip to the middle of your pupil to find your arch.

Decide on the best length for your eyebrows. Take your pencil and hold it diagonally to the tip of your nose to the outer corner of your eye. Mark the spot where the area meets.

Connect the marks. Draw a line to each mark on your brow. Be sure to follow the brow's natural shape to ensure the best results. Your eyebrow should get thinner as it moves upward and outward.

Pluck any unwanted hairs that are outside of the outline template you have drawn. Hold the skin taught, pluck the hair close to the root and in the direction the hair grows. Take your time and make sure you are plucking the unwanted hair. Be sure to use professional tweezers.

Remove the eyebrow pencil marks with witch hazel or facial soap.

You may also purchase eyebrow stencils to assist in shaping your eyebrows. Resist the urge to over pluck your eyebrows.
