Although men usually shower women with expensive and impressive gifts, you can surprise your boyfriend with a creative gift this Valentine's Day specially made for him. Use your imagination to make your boyfriend feel extra special. If a store-bought gift is out of your budget, give him his favourite homemade goodies instead.

Baked Treats

Bake your man a batch of his favourite cookies, brownies or cupcakes but with a creative twist. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cake tin or cupcake tray, or top a plain square or round cake with marzipan figurines of a man and woman for a cute touch. If you do not have a heart shaped cake tray, bake a round cake surrounded by heart shaped cupcakes to get the message across on Valentine's Day.

Romantic Scrapbook

Create a scrapbook for your boyfriend this Valentine to preserve romantic memories spent together. Include old and current items and romantic photos of you two hugging, kissing, cuddling or walking hand in hand. Also paste memorabilia from previous Valentines spent together, such as a dried flower from him to you or gift wrap from a present, along with magazine cutouts on relationship advice from experts. Leave empty spaces throughout the scrapbook for his love notes to you and vice versa. Paste the photos in chronological order along with a creative caption under each. Decorate each page with heart-shaped stickers, glitter pens and other romantic accents for added effect.

As an alternative to a scrapbook, make a photo album for your boyfriend with romantic photos of the two of you to commemorate the time spent together. Besides including many standard-sized photos, cut some images of the two of you in a heart shape for added effect.

Creative Gift Hamper

Assemble little knick-knacks that reflect a particular hobby of his or help develop a skill, then place them in a hamper for him. Items for a sports fan include tickets to an upcoming game starring his favourite team, a sports cap, his favourite sport equipment, a shirt or sweatshirt with his favourite team's logo and postcards featuring his favourite team, while an office executive will warmly welcome a pen set with his initials, a formal tie, a business card case and a paper weight. Use your imagination when adding items to the hamper, specially made for your boyfriend. You can also prepare for a romantic evening by giving him a hamper in the morning that includes a bottle of wine, two aprons and ingredients for his favourite meal so the two of you can cook it together.
