Novelty Occupational Gifts
Job-related gifts are good for the person who has everything. (business woman image by Vasiliy Koval from

When you don't know what to get someone or you're trying to think of a present for the person who has everything, a novelty occupational gift works well. Occupational gifts relate to the person's job and can be either comical and mocking or straightforward and useful. Job-related presents can often be homemade, so you don't have to spend a fortune on a decent gift.

Medical Profession Gifts

For a practical gift give a medical professional a set of scrubs. Choose a fun print such as a comic book or cartoon character to add some amusement to otherwise ordinary attire. Include a set of syringe pens and highlighters. These pens and highlighters are shaped like syringes and will add a bit of fun to her daily routine of writing. A box of chocolate bandages is the perfect remedy for any injury and will likely be used more often than normal bandages.

Construction Profession

Give the construction worker in your life a custom toolbox that has his name on it so he can easily keep track of his box and tools. Or perhaps he needs a new tool belt. On the funny side of things find a hardhat-shaped bowl and fill it with tool-shaped gummy candies for a quick snack on the job.

Teacher Gifts

Your favourite teacher will love a personalised sign with her name on it, or an apple-shaped goody box or jar. Another idea is to create a uniquely shaped chalkboard or whiteboard. Choose the shape of something she loves such as dogs, luggage for travel or a particular state outline.

Military Gifts

Men in the military sometimes get lonely. Make him a personalised pin-up poster with a photo of his wife, girlfriend or dream girl. Have custom dog tags made with funny messages on them. The messages should be inside jokes that only the two of you or a small group of people will understand so it will remind him of the good times back home and bring a smile to his face. A personalised pocket knife is another smart choice as it is useful and unique.

Office and Administration Gifts

Give an office worker a custom paperweight, nameplate or door sign for her office. For some humour find a couple bobblehead pens she can play with as she writes. Complaint sticky notes are fun for her to write on when she's having a rough day and will make her laugh. Paper roses with messages on them such as "I love you" will brighten her day and are easier for her to maintain than fresh flowers.
