Layered Hairstyles With a Fringe

Updated February 21, 2017

Layered haircuts with fringe, or fringe, are so versatile that they're flattering for practically every hair type and texture. The only type of hair that they're not that suitable for is very curly hair, as curls are hard to control when cut short on the forehead. On straight hair, however, well cut layers with fringe can compliment any face shape.

Layered Bobs with Bangs

A bob cut can look too severe or plain without the use of fringe. Fringe adds an extra dimension to this popular hairstyle. You can even ask for layered, asymmetrical fringe, to give your haircut a more modern effect. Wispy layers framing the face are a perfect way to update this hairstyle.

Long Layered Hairstyles with Fringe

If you have longer hair there are a variety of options for adding fringe bangs. For example, very choppy, precise layers cut bluntly around the face look great with blunt cut straight fringe for an extremely striking, contemporary look. On the other hand, softer, delicate layers, gently incorporated with the entire length of hair look great with side swept fringe.

Punk Hairstyles with Bangs

Punk hairstyles are the extreme combination of fringe and layers. The layers of hair are often made extremely short or in extremely opposite directions to create a dramatic overall effect. Traditional hair cutting techniques are abandoned and the hair is cut so that it sticks out all over the head or so that the hair dramatically frames the face.
