How to Hide the Mac Mouse Pointer

Updated February 21, 2017

One problem with older Apple computers is that when you're watching an enlarged video your mac mouse pointer will still appear on the screen. Even if you try and move the pointer to the bottom of the screen, it can still be seen. This can not only be very annoying, but it can be very distracting, as well. There is a very quick and simple solution.

Log on to your computer as normal. If you are watching a video, zoom onto the video to the level you like.

Press "Shift + Command + 4," the short cut for "Caption Region to File. This will turn your mouse pointer from an arrow to a crosshair.

Move the cursor to the bottom right-hand corner of the screen to remove the cursor completely.

Click on your mouse to bring your cursor back.
