Foam board is a craft material that is often used to mount other materials or paper, or to create a border around a photo inside a frame. Foam boards come in several different thicknesses for different projects and tasks. They do not have to be placed inside another material. They can also be hung from the wall with the use of a few different foam board hangers.

Determine if you want to use hang coils, a foam board hook or panel hangers.
If you are using hang coils: Hold the hand coil in your main hand. Press the pointed end into the top middle of the foam board, near one corner. Gently twist the coil into the foam, applying even pressure. Repeat for the other coil on the other side of the board.
If you are using foam board hooks: Place the foam board hook in the centre of the back of the board, about 2 inches from the top edge. If the board is large, use two hooks on either end of the board. Press the back hooks into the back of the board until they sink into the board. If necessary, add one or two small screws to the back of the board to hold the hook in place.
If you are using panel hangers: Poke a small hole in the top two corners of the board. Place the panel hangers over the holes, and thread the screws through the holes. Screw the two sides of the panel hanger screws together until they are tight. Do not allow the screws to press together tightly enough to damage the board.
Pound one or two nails into the wall, depending upon the type of hanger you chose, and hang the board from the nails. Hanging the coils and the panel hangers will require a string thread through the holes hung over a nail.
Mounting to a Wall
Determine whether or not you will have to cut out any of the foam board. If necessary, cut to the right size and shape with a craft knife.
Coat one side of the foam board with spray adhesive.
Press the other material gently over the foam board. Work slowly to avoid snags or air bubbles.
Cut any of the material that hangs over the edge of the foam board with the craft knife.
