123 Copy DVD is a powerful DVD copier and converter, supporting AVI, DivX, MPEG, and Windows Media Video output formats for your PC computer running Windows XP or later. It also copies whole DVDs and Blu-Rays directly to your computer's hard drive for storage or to blank DVD-Rs and DVD-RWs on systems with multiple DVD drives. As of June 2011, 123 Copy DVD offers a free trial version and a full version priced at £19.40. Note that copying DVDs requires at least 4.7GBs (standard DVD size) or 8.5GBs (dual-layered discs) of free space on your hard drive for each DVD, although it is recommended you have at least 10GBs of free space per DVD.

  1. 1

Insert the desired DVD into your hard drive and launch 123 Copy DVD. Close any on-screen Windows prompts and wait for your disc to load in 123 Copy DVD's main menu at the top of the screen.

  2. 2

Double-click your DVD's icon to load 123 Copy DVD's set of conversion options. Double-click the "Hard Drive" icon near the bottom-left of the screen to enter the "Browse For Folder" window.

  3. 3

Choose a location on one of your hard drives with the most available space. You may want to create a "New Folder" and label it according to your disc's name for easier browsing in the future.

  4. 4

Click "OK" or "Open" in the bottom-right corner of the "Browse For Folder" window to begin the copy process. This should take anywhere between thirty and forty minutes, but may take longer depending on your computer's processing speed. Watch the "Copying DVD Disc" pie-chart to track its progress.

  5. 5

Click "OK" in the pop-up window notifying you when DVD copying is complete. Navigate to your previously saved location to view your DVD's contents.

Tips and warnings

  • 123 Copy DVD requires your PC run Intel or AMD Athlon 800 MHZ (1.1GHz recommended) processor and at least 512MB RAM.
  • More free space on your hard drive (20GBs or more) will quicken the copy process.
  • Insufficient free space on your hard drive will cancel the operation.
