Getting a guy to ask you out is not really a matter of convincing him but rather just letting him know that you like him. While you could just tell him you want to go out with him, the odds are that you don't want to do that. Most women don't just ask guys to ask them out. But some women simply skip that step and ask the guy out.

If you don't want to do that, you need to show him that you like him through a variety of nonverbal communication strategies for him to pick up on.

Instructions

  1. 1

Act like yourself. Guys --- and people in general --- like people who are genuine. If you are true to yourself, he will be more attracted to you. So, don't just agree with everything he says and go along with all his plans. Show him your real personality and he will appreciate it.

  2. 2

Be funny. Everyone loves to laugh, and almost everyone is funny in one way or another. If you're funny around your friends, you should be just as funny when you're talking to a guy; don't feel like you need to hold it back. If he laughs with you and at your jokes, he might ask you out.

  3. 3

Maintain some aloofness. If you talk to him for a few minutes, then leave, he'll be wanting more. The same goes for when you see him; if you go to school together and you see him by your locker every afternoon, go to your locker in the morning from time to time. If you are not always around and not always talking to him he will become more attracted to you.

  4. 4

Steer conversations towards his interests. This doesn't mean you need to feign an interest in something you hate, but if you can find shared interests he will become more attracted to you by the fact that you encourage him to talk about them.

  5. 5

Ask him if he has a girlfriend. This can be in a surreptitious manner, by weaving it into general conversation, but if you do ask (even if you know) he'll start to wonder why you're asking.

Tips and warnings

  • Don't try too much. If he's not interested, he's not interested. Don't waste your time trying to convince him when there are plenty of other guys out there who would love to take you out.
