Neckties are common in the Matrix films, worn by everyone from Morpheus to Agent Smith. Most of these are tied in ordinary knots that you'd likely encounter at any business meeting. In The Matrix Reloaded, however, the Merovingian wears a knot unlike any you've ever seen. Though similar in appearance to the more common Atlantic knot, the tie worn by the Merovingian when Neo first meets him, called the Edeity knot, has one important difference---the narrow end of the tie hangs in front. As exotic as it looks, the knot is remarkably easy to tie, essentially being a backwards Full Windsor.

Hang the loose tie around your neck, narrow end on the right, with the seam on the back facing outward.
Tie an ordinary Full Windsor knot, but mirrored. First, cross the wide end over the narrow end, pull it up through the loop and out. Wrap it behind the narrow end to the left and down through the loop, and then wrap it around the front to the right and up through the loop. Complete the Windsor by pulling the wide end down through the knot.
Loosen the tie around your neck and pull it off. Turn it around and put it back on, but now with the seam to the inside and the narrow end protruding in front. Tighten the knot and adjust it until symmetrical.
