Many women want to change their hairstyles often. Women usually choose drawstring ponytails for a nice up-do different from their original hair. The ponytails have drawstrings, as well as combs, so that the ponytail stays tight and secure. Often, women change their hairstyle to ponytails because they don't want to wear full wigs in hot weather. Drawstring ponytails come in a variety of colours, lengths and styles.
- Skill level:
Things you need
- Rubber band
- Drawstring ponytail
Start off by putting your real hair in a bun using rubber bands and hair clips if needed. If your hair is too thick and long, put your hair into a ponytail using rubber bands then braid the ponytail. Wrap your ponytail around in a bun while sticking hair clips in your hair every few times you wrap the hair around.
Take your drawstring ponytail and put in on top of the bun. Put both combs through the bottom of the bun in your hair.
Pull the drawstring so that the ponytail is tightened on the bun. The drawstring should not be shown. To hide the drawstring, you may need to tie or cut the string if it's too long. If the combs are in your scalp and too tight, adjust the combs in a comfortable position or loosen the drawstring.
Tips and warnings
- If you often wear the drawstring ponytail in the same spot on your head, it can result in baldness in that area.
- Do not sleep with the drawstring ponytail in your hair.
