Keep raccoons out of those vegetable gardens with a low-voltage metal fence, a regular metal fence with mesh or a motion-detecting water "scarecrow." Protect your garden with the options shown in this free video on vegetable gardening.
Hi, I'm Rose Keppler Moradian of Delicious Gardens. I'm here to show you how to keep raccoons out of your vegetable garden. There are many ways to keep raccoons out of your vegetable gardens. One of the best ways is to have a low voltage electric fence around your vegetable garden. That is what this is right here. This is a low voltage wire that's plugged into the house. This is a 14 gage wire but it has low voltage in it, and it will shock anything that touches it, including people. So you have to be very careful when you're walking in. Another thing that works really great are fences that have mesh. Treless netting or plastic mesh over them. And another great thing is it's called a scarecrow, and what that is a motion detecting water sprayer. If something comes into a certain radius in your garden, the sprinkler goes on and it chases the animals out. So, we have three different ways to keep raccoons out of your garden. We have the low voltage electric fence, we have metal fencing, with mesh on it, and the motion detecting water feature called the scarecrow. I'm Rose Keppler Moradian of Delicious Gardens, and I've shown you how to repel raccoons out of your vegetable garden. Thank you for joining me.
