Hi, I'm Gary Wilson, at America's Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College. Giraffes, of course, are the tallest animals on land. They reach full height at about five years old for females, and for males, about seven years old. And then, they can live to be twenty six years old in the wild. In captivity, animals often live a little longer, because they get better food and protection from diseases, so in captivity, giraffes have been known to live to be thirty six years old.
