A bride wants to be a princess on her wedding day, so adding a tiara to her wedding hairstyle is absolutely appropriate. Tiaras come in the form of combs, crowns, circles, and clips. A good hairstylist will be able to create an original look around the bride's tiara and dress. Whether the bride is looking for a showpiece or a simple accessory, there are many different wedding tiara hairstyles to choose from.

Styles and Tiaras

Regardless of how the bride's hair is styled, a tiara can be worn. A tiara will add a touch of elegance to any hairstyle, and the type of tiara should emulate the bride's wedding dress. If a bride is wearing a simple wedding gown, wearing her hair down with a band tiara gives a Bohemian type of look. For a more sophisticated style, the bride can wear a fierce updo accented with a dazzling tiara.

A bride's tiara should contain the materials used in her gown, such as crystals and pearls. If a bride is wearing a gown without any beading or other embellishments, she has free rein to choose what materials she wants her tiara to contain. If pearls are used in the tiara and the dress, the colour should match. For example, wearing an ivory tiara with a white gown will give an uncoordinated appearance.

If a bride decides to wear her hair in an updo, a tiara is the perfect hair accessory with or without a veil. If the bride is wearing an updo that sits on top of her head, a tiara at the base of the updo is a great way to separate the updo from her head and give it more dimension in photos. The veil could be clipped at the back of the updo for a cascading look. If the bride is wearing an updo with her hair stacked in the back rather on top of her head, the tiara can be worn on top of her head or around the hair swept into the updo.

Curls have been a trend in bridal hair for the past five years and continue to be popular. A tiara will add a dramatic elegance to curls, especially if the top half of the curls cascade above the top of the tiara. A tiara can also be pushed back like a headband to prevent the curls from going into the bride's face during photographs.
