Real red roses are a popular choice for wedding flower motifs and can serve as beautiful hair pieces as well. Flower girls especially look cute donned with floral headpieces for the big day, and you can easily use red roses as hair decor to give your flower girl a whimsical look on your wedding day. If you have a special little girl who you've picked to do the honours as flower girl, discover a few ways to dress up her hair using red roses.

Rose Halo

A halo of red roses, or a hair wreath, is a traditional look to try. All you need is some craft wire. Measure your flower girl's head and cut the wire so that it will form a small circle to rest on her head. Wrap the wire in some soft green or red pipe cleaner, or a colour that matches your flower girl's hair, so that it is soft. Take more wire and secure roses all around, adding in baby's breath if you want. Simply pin the wreath in a few areas to your flower girl's head. Keep the headpiece refrigerated for freshness.

Rose Headband

Another easy idea is a red rose headband. Find a headband in the colour of your choice, find a plain one and wrap it in ribbon that is the colour of your choice, or get a thin, clear one if you don't want the headband visible. Use super glue to secure rosebuds across the headband. Do this on the day of the wedding, as rosebuds will wilt after a day or two, and you want them looking fresh for your wedding. You can also do it the night before and refrigerate the headpiece.

Pinned Back Roses

Try pinning the front parts of your flower girl's hair back with red roses, which is also great because it will keep hair from flying in their faces. Glue flower buds to a comb barrette, then push the hair back on one side, and repeat with another barrette on the other side, or leave one side down. You can also try this by using thin wire to secure roses to bobby pins, then pinning the hair back with those.

Red Rose Updo

An updo is another way to keep your flower girl looking cute and sophisticated, with the added bonus of keeping her hair out of her face. Twist the air into whatever updo you choose, be it intricate or a simple bun. Glue small rosebuds to small hair pins or use thin wire, then stick hair pins around the updo or in it, however you like.

Rose Bow

A rose bow is easy to do and will look adorable on a young flower girl. Secure your flower girl's hair into a low or high ponytail. Tie some ribbon into a bow around the base of the ponytail. You can now pin flower buds around the bow, along with baby's breath, or you can pin one large flower in the middle of the bow.

Rose Crown

For a sparkling red rose headpiece, try using a small rhinestone crown, available at most wedding stores or even costume stores. Decorate the base of the crown with small red rosebuds, using craft wire or super glue to secure them to the crown. Or you could decorate the tips of the crown, or just sporadically secure small buds around the crown if you choose.

Flowing Rosebuds

Try flowing rosebuds down your flower girl's back. This style works with any kind of hairdo, such as a bun decorated with roses or a rose headband. Decorate a long piece of ribbon with rosebuds using craft wire or glue and flow down your flower girl's back. This will give a gorgeous cascading rosebud effect.
