How to Add a Norton Toolbar

Add greater protection to your Web browsing by installing a toolbar to your favourite browser. Norton Safe Web Lite helps you to surf websites, shop online and search the Web more safely. This free toolbar alerts you when you encounter a dangerous or suspicious website. This toolbar works with Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer on Windows operating systems.

    Open a Web browser and navigate to the Norton Safe web site (see Resources).

    Click the button reading "Download Norton Safe Web Lite."

  3. 3

    Double-click the download on your desktop or other location where you saved the file. Follow the instructions to install the toolbar to your default Web browser.

  4. 4

    Close out of your Web browser. Launch it once more. Norton Safe Web Lite will appear at the top of your browser.

Tips and warnings

  • You can remove the toolbar from your "Internet Tools" options.
