How to Bypass Ink Cartridges Now Recognized on an Espon Stylus Printer RX680

If you change the ink cartridge in your Epson Stylus RX680 printer before the system alerts you to a low ink condition or you replace empty cartridges with a cartridge other than Epson's brand, your printer may display a "Ink Cartridge Not Recognized" error. When the printer fails to recognise the cartridge, the machine is disabled until the error is cleared. Bypass the error if you are certain the cartridges are proper for the printer.

Click the "Start" menu on your computer's desktop. Select the "Control Panel" option.

Choose "Printers and Faxes" in the Control Panel dialogue box. Right-click the icon for the Epson Stylus and select "Preferences."

Select the "Maintenance" tab. Click the "Speed & Progress" button in the lower right corner of the dialogue box.

Click the check box beside "Disable EPSON Status Monitor." Click "OK." Click "Apply" followed by "OK" in the Control Panel window.
