Instructions

  1. 1

Choose the type and size of roller that best suits your hairstyle you want. Foam rollers are more comfortable but hard plastic rollers give a more defined curl. Smaller rollers give tight curls while larger rollers give loose, wavy curls.

  2. 2

Place the rollers you want to use in a pile on the table in front of you. Have styling gel or lotion nearby if you want to use this.

  3. 3

Separate hair into sections using a comb. Each section will use one roller.

  4. 4

Apply your regular styling aid to the hair section.

  5. 5

Place the roller at the end of the hair and roll the roller up until you arrive at the scalp. Secure the roller. Some rollers have fasteners attaches. Hard plastic rollers require long hair pins.

  6. 6

Repeat this process until all the desired rollers are in. Some people only curl the front or back of their hair to create different styles.

  7. 7

Go to bed. Remove rollers in the morning and style hair using your fingers, styling brushes or combs.
