A clone cartridge is a type of third-party ink cartridge that uses an identical chip to the original ink cartridge. People buy cloned cartridges to save money, since original cartridges are more expensive. However, sometimes the Epson printer does not recognize the cloned ink cartridge. After you install the cartridge, you might receive a message that says "An ink cartridge cannot be recognised." In this case, you will have to disable the Epson printer monitor.
