How to Decorate a Tractor Themed Bedroom
Bright colours make a tractor themed bedroom a fun place to be. (tractor image by Tonda from Fotolia.com)

Tractors hold a tremendous fascination for people of all ages. Perhaps this is because of a tractor's bright colours or its shiny fixtures, or perhaps it's because of a tractor's powerful machinery, detailed dashboard and lofty view of the world. No matter the reason for his fascination, it is simple to honour the tractor lover's passion with a tractor-themed bedroom.

Instructions

  1. 1

Determine your primary colour scheme. Choose two colours that are commonly seen on farm equipment. Red and black or green and yellow are two popular colour schemes for tractor-themed bedrooms.

  2. 2

Choose a neutral accent colour. Your tractor themed bedroom will need a third colour to soften the bright primary colours associated with tractors. Choose neutrals such as white or tan, or go a more trendy direction with shades of grey. According to the My Perfect Color website, grey looks great with bold colours and offers a calming effect, too.

  3. 3

Purchase bedding and accent pieces in the colours of your chosen colour scheme. Be sure to purchase bedding staples such as a comforter, a sheet set, pillowcases, shams and a bed skirt. For accent pieces, consider a lamp with a toy tractor base, a round play rug in a bright colour, and a red or green dresser scarf.

  4. 4

Paint the walls in your chosen neutral shade to offset the bright colours elsewhere in the room.

  5. 5

Paint images of tractors on the walls or apply tractor-themed wall decals. These add delightful visual interest for young people and give your bedroom a cheerful atmosphere.

  6. 6

Include a tractor, because every tractor-themed bedroom should have one. Purchase a kid-sized tractor (available from many farm equipment suppliers) and display it in a corner of the room.

  7. 7

Design a corner focal point. For example, a child would love pretending to drive a tractor in a bedroom corner decorated with a real tractor seat and steering wheel mounted on a wooden platform. Face it toward the corner, paint the walls to look like a tractor dashboard, and you're ready for fun.
