Citizen is a luxury line of watches that's been around since 1924 and is, according to the company's website, one of the largest manufacturers of timepieces. The watches come on a variety of bracelets with links, which can be added or removed to change the watchband size. Although the Citizen website provides information about how to size your Citizen watch, it also recommends that you not try to remove a link from the watchband yourself. However, although it can be difficult to remove a link to make the watch smaller, you can do it by carefully following the proper procedure.
Try on your watch and see how loose it is. Pinch the bracelet until you have the perfect fit. Determine how many links you have to remove by counting the number of links you're pinching.
Stand the watch up on its side. Examine the bracelet and look for arrows. These arrows point to the holes you will use to safely get the links out.
Insert a small pointed tool into the holes of your Citizen watchband. You need to insert the tool at the base of the arrow. Remove both of the pins from the two holes you see.
Push the first pin out in the same direction the arrow is pointing. Repeat the same process for the second pin. The links will become loose once the pins come out.
Repeat Steps 2 through 4 for any other links you need to remove from your Citizen watchband. Remove the watch clasp the same way.
Join the clasp with a neighbouring link. Replace the pins to secure the bracelet. Make sure they are in all the way through and do not stick out.
If you are unsure of how to remove links, take your Citizen watch to a jeweller.
