Hi, I'm Tim Gipson and I want to talk to you about how to clean vinyl siding. Now one of the great things about vinyl siding is it's relatively low maintenance so there's not a lot you have to do to it. But occasionally it is going to need some cleaning depending on the type of environment you're in. Now for most cases I've got a power washer here, this is going to be the ideal thing to use and if you you know take care of your vinyl siding and do something to clean it, at least once a year, most of the time you can just take this and simply just spray it down because it's just going to be taken care of getting a lot of the just surface dirt that gets on there. Now if you get into an occasion where if you've got some mold or you know some different type of heavier soiling going on, then it's good to have a power washer such as this that has a tank. And now when we clean this what we want to use, we're going to use a real mild detergent. Okay. So a real mild detergent solution and if you've got some problems with a little bit of mold or mildew growing, then for every gallon of water that you put in, put a cup of bleach in and the bleach will help to cut that. Now if you have some really soiling heavy soiling areas than you can get a brush like this. Now it's very important whether you're applying the soap for the pressure washer or you're applying the soap and scrubbing with this, you want to wash from the bottom up and then when you get ready to rinse, you want to rinse from the top down. And the reason for doing that is that the soap keeps the dirt and stuff from sticking, so you want to rinse from the top down. So if the - if you start rinsing from the bottom, what will happen by the time you get up to the top you'll have some of the residual dirt that's up on there will end up streaking down the side, so remember, wash from the bottom up, rinse from the top down. And in most cases if you make it the more frequently that you spray down your vinyl siding, the less scrubbing and the less soap solution that you'll have to use. So I'm Tim Gipson and that's how to clean vinyl siding.
