Monster refers to an energy drink manufactured by the Monster Energy Group. The drink contains a mix of sugar, caffeine and other ingredients to keep the consumer charged while delivering a citrus flavour. Served in a black can that's twice as large as the average soda can, the beverage promises to keep you going for a long time. If you're a fan of this beverage or rely on it to complete your studies or work, or your friends always see you walking around with a can of it in your hand, consider crafting a costume in the shape and form of this beverage for the next Halloween celebration or costume party.

  1. 1

Flip the cardboard barrel upside down and cut away the bottom of the barrel with your utility knife. Step into the barrel and hold it with one hand so it's at your shoulder level. Make a mark with a pencil where each shoulder is.

  2. 2

Cut a circle around each mark with your utility knife. Make each hole 8 to 10 inches wide.

  3. 3

Lay newspapers or a dust sheet on the floor. Spray paint the exterior of the barrel black with a can of acrylic spraypaint. Allow it to dry for at least 12 hours.

  4. 4

Print out a colour copy of the Monster Drink logo. Take it to a copy shop and have it enlarged so it is at least two to three feet high.

  5. 5

Cut around your new larger logo. Turn it over and spray the back of it with adhesive. Press the logo evenly onto your black barrel in the front and centre part of the barrel. Allow it to dry for three to four hours.

  6. 6

Spray the entire barrel with a light gloss finishing spray to give it the look of a shiny can and to prevent the paint from rubbing against your skin while you wear it.
