How to Improve Speed on Soulseek

Updated April 17, 2017

Soulseek is a popular peer-to-peer file-sharing program. If it seems to be running slower than you would expect on your Internet set-up, there is a way to improve the speed of your connection. Because it is a peer-to-peer set-up, however, no solution is perfect. If the person from whom you are downloading has a slow upload speed, there is nothing you can do on your end.

Open Soulseek.

Click the "Transfers" tab at the top of the Soulseek window.

Set you "Maximum Download Speed" to "0." Somewhat counter-intuitively, "0" makes it unlimited

Click "Apply" and then "OK."
