Enjoy playing an original prank on your friends or create a memorable item for a family member or loved one by making a fake newspaper article online. There are a number of specialist companies that can produce hard copies of a newspaper with the headline and content of your choice. However, these can be a little expensive, and if you are pressed for time, delivery can be frustratingly slow. By creating a newspaper article using an online template, results can be achieved in seconds and sent by e-mail.

Instructions

  1. 1

Visit the Fodey website using the Web address provided in the Resources section. Familiarise yourself with the Web forms on the site and review the sample image provided to see what a finished article looks like. Remember that each newspaper article generated can be made unique, so don't worry if the titles and storylines used in the sample are different from the idea you have in mind.

  2. 2

Enter the name of the newspaper in the text box provided on the Fodey website. Choose the favourite newspaper of the person you are creating the article for. Consider using the name of a fictional newspaper to make the article more topical. Use a name such as "The Daily Prank" for comical articles or "News for Lovers" if you are planning to make a romantic piece.

  3. 3

Enter the date into the next text box. Remember to postdate if you don't intend to send out the news article to the recipient immediately. Use a full date such as "September 21, 2011" instead of an abbreviated version to create authenticity. Use a factually correct date from a past event if you are creating a newspaper for something that has already happened, such as an embarrassing story from a stag party or a recent achievement.

  4. 4

Add a headline that creates an impact in the next text box. Make sure the headline is relative to the story that follows and try to be imaginative wherever possible. Use a title such as "Lifelong Playboy Finally Gets Hitched" for a forthcoming wedding event or "My Best Friend Was Abducted by Aliens" if you are looking to write a funny story.

  5. 5

Enter the story into the final text box and, once again, be imaginative, informal and amusing. Remember to highlight the funny aspects behind an event and to pick out key factors such as venues, occasions and other people involved in the story.

  6. 6

Click the "Generate," button and the full newspaper article will appear on the screen. Read through the piece carefully to ensure there is perfect grammar, a strong flow of content and a suitable punch line. Download the finished newspaper article to your computer so that it can be sent out as an e-mail attachment to friends and family.
