Teeth are interesting natural decorations that can be used to create unique pieces of jewellery. If you have a selection of teeth, one special tooth or just like the look of fossil jewellery, you can easily create your own tooth necklace with simple tools and materials. You can use any type of tooth for this necklace, like sentimental baby teeth, rare animal teeth or even artificial teeth made to look like the real thing, and the process will still be the same.
Mark the tooth on either side where you want the hole to be using a fine marker. The hole should be somewhere near the top of the tooth, but not so close to the edge that the hole will shatter the tooth.
Fit the drill with the small drill bit and hold the bit against one of the marked sides of the tooth. If you can't hold the tooth steady, you should place it in a vice while drilling.
Drill into the mark on the tooth and aim the drill towards the mark on the other side until the bit makes a straight, clear hole. Check your progress occasionally to ensure you aren't drilling off to either side.
Slide the metal ring into the hole and tighten it with pliers until the tips of the ring are touching. Turn the ring, so the ends are hidden inside the hole in the tooth.
Pass the end of the chain through the ring in the tooth to hang the charm from the chain and put it around your neck.
Look along the beach when taking a stroll on vacation for teeth of various sea life that may have washed ashore.
Do not harm or kill an animal to removes it teeth because it is against the law in many places to do so.
