The online multiplayer game, Aion, has unbelievably beautiful graphics that allow you to create a character that looks like a real person. Of course, you have the option of making a character look as ridiculous as you want or even like a celebrity or another game character. Having a character that looks real can add to your immersion in the game.

Start the game and log in with your account name and password. Choose the realm you want to create your character on.
Choose the Elyos faction. You have a choice between Elyos and Asmodian, but since you want the character to look as real as possible, choose Elyos. Asmodians have tails and non-human coloured skin.
Select which fighting class and gender you want to play. Each class has a description and statistics displayed on the screen; this will assist you in making a selection.
Select a facial template. You can choose something close to what you want or choose one at random because you can customise it later.
Use the skin colour selection at the bottom right to give your character realistic skin tones. You can choose from a preset colour or use the mixer below it for a custom colour. Avoid colours that are too blue, purple or pink.
Use the hair colour and lip colour palettes to customise the colour of your character's facial features. The lip colour can be almost any colour since you can say it is lipstick on the character. The hair colour can technically be any colour since dye exists in the real world, but to keep it toned down choose a blond, grey, brown or black.
Choose your character's hair and face shape.
Select any decorations or tattoos that you want. The decorations are more make-up selections for the face.
Click "Customize Face" tab.
Use the sliding bars to customise the size, length and height of your facial features. Do not make things too extreme like eyes that are too close together and larger than the head. Think about what a real person's face looks like.
Click the body silhouette button on the left to start customising your character's body.
Click the up and down buttons next to the silhouette for presets, then use the sliding bars to the right to customise the body further. Change the height of the character. To keep it realistic do not set it all the way short or all the way tall. Keep the size of the body parts proportional to each other. You do not want to make a character with obscenely long legs or an obscenely large head.
Give your character a name and choose a voice.
Click "Create" when you are done.
