Homemade Dip Stand

Dips are one of the most effective exercises for developing size, strength and endurance in the triceps, shoulders and chest. A dip stand is small and can be stored easily. You can make a dip stand for a lot less than one store-bought.

Things you need

  • Three 1-1/4 inch PVC pipe 10 feet length
  • Six 1-1/4 inch PVC elbows
  • Two 1-1/4 inch PVC tees

Instructions

  1. 1

    Cut the PVC pipe into the proper pieces using a PVC cutter. Two of the 10 foot pieces should be cut into three 36 inch pieces and two 6 inch pieces. The last piece should be cut to 24 inches in length.

    Place an elbow on both ends of the 24 inch piece. Place a 36 inch piece into each elbow. This will form the back of the stand.

    Place elbows at the top of the 36 inch pieces.

    Place 36 inch pieces in the elbows and secure elbows at the end of those pieces.

    Place 36 inch pieces into those elbows. Place tees at the bottom of these--this will be the front.

  6. 6

    Place 6 inch pieces into both ends of each tee. These pieces will help stabilise the stand. At this point you should have connected 11 pieces of PVC pipe to form this dip stand.
