How to Decorate Candles With Beads

Updated February 21, 2017

Beads can turn an ordinary candle into a work of art. Many candle holders are decorative and ornate, but the candles themselves can be decorated with items, such as beads, to dress a home and add elegance to a table or shelf. Use seed beads in your favourite colour along with a few other supplies to create designs or patterns on the sides of candles.

Draw a design or pattern onto your candle with a toothpick. Apply slight pressure with the toothpick to carve the design into the sides of the candle. Draw words, images or shapes.

Set your hairdryer to a high heat and blow the heat directly over the sides of your candle for about five minutes to soften the wax.

Pick up your seed beads with your tweezers and press them into the design on the sides of the candle. Press beads along all of the carved lines so the beads create the design.

Things You'll Need
