A nice watch should be protected by a watch box so that it stays in good condition long term. A wooden watch box is a great solution to store your watches. Making your own wooden watch box allows you to add your personal creative touch while customising it to fit your watch.

Use a jigsaw or a table saw to cut the pieces of wood. Cut 2 4-inch-by-4-inch pieces and 8 4-inch-by-1 1/2-inch pieces.
Make a dovetail joint. Use a router and a dovetail jig to make the joint for all four corners of the box, for both the top and bottom piece.
Line up the wood pieces so that the pieces fit firmly together. Apply wood glue to the joint in order to fasten it. Use a clamp to hold the pieces together as they dry.
Attach the top and bottom pieces to the sides, once they have dried. Attach the top and bottom pieces with wood glue and clamp them while they dry.
Decorate the wood surface. Use stain, varnish or paint to decorate the wood pieces to your colour of choice. Once the pieces are dry, apply an additional coat. Finish the wood by adding a coat of clear finish and allow it to dry.
Use small screws to attach hinges to the back side of the bottom and top of the box. Make sure that the two pieces align when closing and opening the box.
Create the holder. Cut a rectangular piece of metal 3 3/4-inches-by-1 1/2-inches-by-1-inch thick.
Additionally cut a piece of metal 4-inchs-by-4-inches. Remove a rectangular portion of the rectangular piece measuring 1cm-by-1cm from the centre. Make 1-inch diagonal cuts at the corners of the rectangular piece. Fold cardboard around the rectangular piece at the end of each of the cuts. Cut the extra cardboard until it makes a 90-degree corner. Glue the cardboard down at its edges and allow it to dry. Cover the rectangular piece in fabric and attach it on the back with hot glue.
Glue the rectangle into the box. Place the rectangular piece of metal and place it inside of the four walls of the box so that it forms a level surface, and use hot glue around the edges to secure it.
Cut a piece of metal 1 1/4-inches-by-3 1/2-inches. Cover this piece with foam and then wrap it with fabric to form a soft pillow like object. Place the watch on top of this piece and then place them both into the centre of the box.
