How to Reset Kodak Ink Cartridges

Updated April 17, 2017

Kodak ink cartridges are primarily used for photo printing, which makes buying replacement cartridges very expensive. However, there are ways to reset your original Kodak ink cartridges and not have to buy replacements. After all, your Kodak cartridge is working just fine, the only problem is that there is no ink inside. All that you need is an ink refill kit and some tissues.

Purchase an ink refill kit that has an ink bottle with a syringe attached to the cap.

Open the cover to your Kodak printer and take out the ink cartridges that you need to reset.

Locate the filling hole, which most likely will be on the rear or the bottom of the ink cartridge.

Moisten the needle of the syringe. Push the syringe needle into the sponge through the filling hole. Do not use excessive force or you risk tearing the sponge apart, which causes clogs.

Hold the ink bottle steady because the syringe needle is very thin and delicate. Squeeze the bottle slowly to make ink flow into the sponge. Don't apply too much pressure or the sponge will expand, causing ink to come out unevenly when printing.

Squeeze ink into the sponge until it looks moist. Do not fill it up too much.

Wipe the filling hole thoroughly with tissues. Reinstall the ink cartridge to your Kodak printer. Make sure that you hear a click when putting it in.
