How to Search for Phone Numbers in the U.K.

Not long ago, finding someone's phone number in Britain might have meant a trip to the U.K. or one to a speciality library with overseas phone directories. Now, white pages listings on the Internet mean that you can find a phone number for someone in London, Glasgow, Belfast or Blackburn with just a few mouse clicks. If the phone book doesn't have the listing the need, you can use other online resources to find someone in the U.K.

    Visit, Britain's online telephone directory.

    Unlike other British white pages, includes listings from additional sources, such as the U.K. electoral rolls.

    Search for the person whose number you're seeking by entering his name in the "Name" field. Enter his address in the "Location" field, if known. You can enter a partial address, such as a city name, postcode or street name.

    Click "Search" to display a list of results. The free results on include a person's name, address and telephone number. There is a fee to access premium results from sources other than the white pages, if the free listings don't have the information you're seeking.
