How Do I Clean Burnt Food from Cast Iron Pans?

Video transcription

Hi. I'm Athena Haas, and I work here at Novax. And I'm going to show you how to clean burnt food from cast iron pans. This type of pan is basically used for frying, so this is something that you want to keep well-oiled. So, when you have burnt food on a cast iron pan, it's important to get that off. I use salt, or you can use baking soda to really scrub off all the little bits, as well as you can, and it takes time. Never use any kind of tool to scrape, or any kind of metal to scrape your cast iron pan, 'cause it will be ruined. So after you've gently cleaned your cast iron pan, as always, dry it very well, oil it well, and keep it in a safe place. And that is how you clean burnt food from cast iron pans.
