Making your own wolf ears is a lot cheaper than buying a pair online. The initial task may seem daunting, but almost anyone can whip up a pair of wolf ears in a matter of minutes. The wolf ears are the perfect finishing touch to any wolf costume and are sturdy and easy to wear. The same method can be used to make any type of animal ears.
Use a pair of scissors to cut two large triangle shapes from grey felt. The triangles should be at least 4 inches tall, with the outside edges cut into fringe.
Cut two much smaller triangles, about 1 1/2 inches tall, from white felt. Fringe all of the edges of the white triangles to create a furry look.
Use a hot glue gun to apply two dots, about half an inch apart, on the top right side of a grey headband. Add two more dots directly underneath, on the bottom of the headband. Attach a grey felt triangle with the fringe facing outward to the glue that is on the bottom side of the headband. Wrap the felt around the headband and attach again on the top glue dots. Bend the ear backward so that it stands upright on the headband. Repeat on the left side.
Hot glue the white triangles to the front of the ears. Allow the glue to dry completely before wearing.
- If you don't want to make grey wolf ears, substitute any colour of felt, such as black, white or brown.
