How to Dress to Impress for a Lunch Date
Whether it's your first date or a date with your long-time spouse, arrive at your lunch date in all of your confident glory, dressed to impress for this lunch date. Taking the time to pick out the right outfit shows your date that you are happy to be out with him.
It's acceptable to dress casually for a lunch date as long as your clothes are clean, ironed and they make you feel good.
Wear a polo shirt or a dress shirt with a pair of khaki pants, jeans or trousers. Wear a dark pair of shoes, such as loafers.
Use hair gel or pomade to style your hair. Keep yourself neatly groomed by shaving and putting on deodorant.
Spray cologne on your neck, wrists and chest. To avoid spraying too much, position the spray nozzle 2 inches away from your skin.
Wear a pair of dark jeans with a blouse. If you want to dress up more, wear a knee-length skirt that is black, gray or tan. Put on a pair of shoes that complement your outfit, such as heels or wedges. Stick to flats if you'll be traveling by foot. Avoid wearing clothes that reveal too much skin.
Keep your makeup subtle. Wear a little mascara to open up your eyes, blush to brighten your complexion and clear or tinted lip gloss to add shine to your lips.
Add volume to your hair by using a curling iron, or put your hair up in a neat bun or chignon for a simple look.
Wear a couple of simple accessories to complement your outfit. For example, a pair of earrings and a bracelet can suit your outfit without being too gaudy, or skip the earrings and bracelet and opt for a single long necklace with a medium-size pendant.
