Teacher and student Christmas gifts do not have to be elaborate and costly to be useful and appreciated. It is amazing what a little imagination will do when it comes to giving gifts for this holiday season. It is the thought that counts, but give a gift that is enjoyed also. Make Christmas a joyous one in your classroom this year.

Buying Bulk Gifts for Students

A teacher may have up to thirty students in the class, which could make gift giving a costly occasion at Christmas. Buy in bulk from a distributor online and your gifts can cost you under one dollar a piece. The choices would depend upon the ages of your students, but there is something for every group. Just a small keepsake such as a Christmas key chain, holiday trinket or even something they can take home and hang on their tree would work well as a gift from the teacher.

Technology Embellishment for the Teacher's Gift

Give the teacher a gift that will embellish a cell phone or computer. A cell phone case decorated in a style that best coincides with your teacher's tastes will be a useful gift. If your teacher loves the outdoors, buy an earth-tone coloured case that clips to clothing during hikes, bike rides or walks. For the teacher who is into the latest fashion, step it up with a cell phone case with jewels or sparkles.

Take a picture of your class to an office or copy store and have it printed on a mouse pad for your teacher for a one of a kind gift. Another option is to give your teacher a mouse pad that has a picture of her favourite type of dog or cat on it.

Movie Gift for Students

Instead of presenting each student with an individual gift, do something for the entire classroom. Have a movie afternoon complete with popcorn as your Christmas gift to your students. Print up festive large movie tickets and present them to your class the day before. Pick a popular movie with or without a Christmas theme. Bring in a hot air popcorn popper and give the gift of an afternoon of fun to your students. Make sure to notify the parents first so that they may approve of your movie selection.

Teacher Gift Certificates

Give the coffee- or tea-drinking teacher a travel mug with a gift certificate to a nearby coffee shop. This is a gift that will be used often, and the first few cups of coffee are paid for by you. Other thoughtful and appreciated gift cards include those to a nearby sandwich shop or movie theatre.
