Different Ways of Decorating School Planners
Make your planner unique to you. (Pencil and day planner image by Jim Mills from Fotolia.com)

Staying organised and up-to-date with school assignments and events is a very important part of academic success. School planners help students to be efficient in completing schoolwork, doing projects and reaching goals. The ability to make these planners unique to a student's personality is also important. Here are some ways to decorate your school planner and make it your own.

Candy Wrappers

Use coloured candy wrappers to create a colourful cover for your school planner. Cut a piece of card stock or construction paper to fit the size of the planner. Then, arrange the candy wrappers on the paper and tape down the edges with small pieces of clear tape.

Use colourful stickers to decorate the front of your planner and to highlight events of importance and upcoming activities. Use letter stickers to spell out your name and friends' names on the front and back covers of the planner.

Use markers in assorted colours to draw smiley faces and other designs on your planner. You can also use glitter markers to add glitter accents. Use silver and gold markers to add shimmery designs.

Cut out pictures from magazines or use personal pictures to create a collage to place on the front or back of your planner. Place the largest pictures on a piece of card stock paper cut to fit the size of the planner. Randomly arrange the pictures and tape them to the card stock paper. Next, arrange the smaller pictures and tape them down. Continue to layer pictures on until there is no white space showing.
