Adobe CS5 (Creative Suite 5) applications use the CS5 Service Manager to communicate with the Adobe Extension Manager, which enables interaction with "extensions." These extensions are plugins that add scripts, tool options and other application features. If an Adobe CS5 application crashes, the CS5 Service Manager may remain open. This can cause problems when reopening the CS5 application, or may cause conflicts with other processes running on your computer. To close the CS5 Service Manager manually, you'll need to access the Windows Task Manager.
