There are two ways to widen your header image: widen the image itself, or widen the entire blog. The first is a little trickier than the second. Choose what works best for your blog. The widened header image stays within the Blogger body template, so you do not have to do any coding or change the rest of the blog's size to accommodate the larger header. Use an image-editing software program such as Photoshop to alter the pixel size of your header.

Click "Start," then click "All Programs." Click on the image-editing software you use for the header to open it.
Click "File," then "Open." Open your header image within the software.
Change the size of the header image. For example, if the image is 600 pixels wide, change it to 900 pixels wide. This process varies by software. Save your new image in a JPEG or PNG format.
Click "Design" on the Blogger Dashboard page under your blog name. Click "Edit" in the Header section of "Add and Arrange Page Elements."
Click "Browse" next to "Image" in the "Configure Header" pop-up window. Locate the widened header image, then click "Open." Wait for the image to load. Click the orange "Save" button to save the header.
Click "Design" on the Blogger Dashboard page. Click "Template Designer."
Click "Adjust widths" under "Blogger Template Designer." Move the arrow to widen the entire blog to the pixel size you want.
Click the orange "Apply to Blog" button. Click "View Blog" to see the widened blog and header.
