Castor oil is a type of vegetable oil extracted from the leaves of the castor bean plant. The castor bean plant is a fast growing plant with clusters of red flowers. It produces the notoriously poisonous castor bean. Castor oil, however, is not dangerous and has various uses. Castor oil stimulates hair growth and is often used as a hair tonic to promote thicker, healthier hair. When used on the eyebrows, castor oil helps accelerate regrowth in eyebrows that have been over-plucked or waxed. It can also cause eyebrows to grow thicker and darker.
Gently wash your eyebrows with a mild soap. Put a small dab of soap and water on a cotton ball and run it across each eyebrow. Pat the eyebrow dry with a sheet of facial tissue.
Dip one end of a cotton swab in castor oil. Tap the neck of the cotton swab against the sink one or two times to get rid of the extra oil.
Dab the cotton swab along your eyebrow, going in the direction of the hair.
Blot away excess castor oil with the dry end of the cotton swab.
Cover your pillows with old pillow covers to prevent the castor oil from ruining them. Apply the castor oil at night and leave it on until you wake up the next morning for maximum results.
Castor oil may not work on eyebrows that are thin due to ageing.
