Facebook is the first choice for social networking for hundreds of millions of users around the world. Each Facebook account is labelled with a special user identification. You can discover the identification number for any Facebook by logging into your account and searching for the user with the Facebook search utility. Finding the user ID for a Facebook account is then as simple as rolling your mouse over the user's main profile picture.

Launch Internet Explorer by double-clicking the program icon on the desktop screen.
Navigate to Facebook.com in your Web browser.
Log in to your Facebook account by entering your username and password.
Find the Facebook profile page of the user whose identification number you want to find. You can search for individual users by entering the name into the search box at the top of the page. Click "People" from the search results option to narrow the search to just users rather than fan pages and groups.
Roll your mouse over the user's profile picture.
Look in the status bar at the bottom of Internet Explorer. The user's identification number is the series of digits at the end of the address after "id=".
Tips and warnings
