Finding an individual's phone number in London, England, is not as straightforward as it might seem. No options are available to search for a cellular or unlisted number in England on the Internet. However, with a last name and a location, telephone numbers for those in the United Kingdom that are listed can be found relatively easily. Information can also be received by calling a telephone number from within England.

Open an Internet browser on the computer. Enter "British Telecom" in the search box on the upper right of the page. BT or British Telecom is one of the largest telephone providers in the United Kingdom, so it is a good place to start a phone number search. Select "Residential Numbers" from the options provided.

Enter the individual's last name in the appropriate box. Enter the individual's location in the second box. Select "Search" when completed. A list of possible names will be generated through the search. Information should include address and phone number. Searching on the website is free.

Call "0800 100 100" from a land line or cellular telephone in the United Kingdom for BT's telephone inquiry service. A phone number can be received by providing an address in London or other parts of the United Kingdom. However, charges might apply when using this option.
