Chinese takeout boxes can be used for things other than pork fried rice. They can be utilised for decorative purposes, storage and for giving gifts. You can make them yourself in any colour and decorate them in any way you want--you're limited only to how far your imagination will take you.

Things you need
- Takeout box pattern
- Card stock
- Butter knife
Trace the pattern of your takeout box on a piece of cardstock. There are templates available online. If you are using a plain piece of card stock it doesn't matter which side the pattern is traced on, but if you are using patterned paper make sure the traced pattern is on the blank side of the paper.
Cut out the traced pattern and draw the lines that are shown on the template onto the cut-out cardstock.
Score the lines with a butter knife. This will make the cardstock easier to fold.
Fold the takeout box where the scored lines are. Be sure that the traced lines are facing the inside of the box and not the outside.
Glue the box together by gluing the tabs on the sides of the box. Allow the glue to dry completely and secure with clamps or paper clips to make sure the paper doesn't slip or move while drying.
Paint and/or decorate the box to your tastes.
