At conventions such as the San Diego and New York Comic Cons, some fans dress up as their favourite comic book heroes and villains. While some fans purchase ready-made costumes, others opt to make their own and sometimes, depending on their skill, more authentic costumes. Nightwing is a relatively simple costume to put together yourself. He was the original Robin -- Batman's sidekick, the Boy Wonder. Tired of playing second fiddle, he went off on his own under his new alter ago, Nightwing.
Draw an outline of the mask on the black felt paper with your white chalk. Refer to your Nightwing picture to draw it correctly.
Cut out the mask with your scissors, carefully following the outline you drew.
Punch holes at either end of the mask you cut out. Insert one side of the elastic string into one of the holes and tie a knot. Do the same on the other side.
Try on the mask to ensure it fits comfortably. If it does not, cut a piece of elastic from another birthday hat. Cut the elastic tied to the mask in the middle and tie the new piece to either side of the original piece of elastic.
Draw an outline of Nightwing's emblem on the blue spandex fabric. Refer to your Nightwing picture to draw it correctly.
