If you need to make a mushroom costume for a school play or a last minute Halloween costume, you might be relieved to know that no sewing is required. Instead of making a fabric costume, you can use cardboard to create a quick and easy mushroom costume that even children can create. As long as you can handle a pair of scissors and a stapler, you can make a cardboard mushroom costume.

Things you need
- 2-inch wide ribbon
- Craft paint
Draw a large mushroom onto a flat piece of cardboard and cut out the mushroom with a pair of scissors or a utility knife.
Place the mushroom onto another piece of cardboard and trace around it.
Cut out the second mushroom. These cardboard pieces form the front and back of your mushroom costume.
Lay the cardboard mushrooms on the floor with the top of the mushrooms facing each other.
Staple a 2-foot length of 2-inch wide ribbon to the top of one mushroom approximately four inches left of the centre of the mushroom.
Staple the opposite end of the ribbon to the other mushroom.
Repeat the previous two steps to attach a ribbon four inches right of the centre of each mushroom. You can now wear the costume by placing the ribbons on your shoulders with one mushroom in front of you and one in back.
Decorate the mushrooms with markers or craft paint in your desired colours.
