A Kymco 50cc scooter's performance relies directly upon the scooter's continuously variable transmission. Equipped with factory-installed gear wheels in the CVT, the Kymco scooter is designed to balance power between initial acceleration and overall cruising speed. Ultimately, this means a Kymco 50cc scooter can't accelerate very quickly or cruise very fast. You can upgrade the acceleration or the cruising speed performance of your Kymco 50cc scooter by replacing the gear wheels.
