Like it or not, we all have parts of ourselves that we wish could be different. If your nose is one of them, here are some tips to make your nose look smaller naturally—the ideal alternative to plastic surgery, which rarely turns out the way you expect and often makes the situation worse.

Instructions

  1. 1

Use cover-up to hide any blemishes or scars on your nose that draw more attention to it.

  2. 2

Apply your regular foundation all over your face. For a wide nose, apply a foundation one shade darker on both sides of your nose. This will make your nose look slimmer. For a longer nose that you want to look shorter, apply the darker-shade foundation underneath the nose where the nostrils meet, instead of on the sides. Either way, be sure to blend well between both foundation colors so that you cannot see any lines. If you do not have a darker-shade foundation, you can try blush or bronzer instead.

  3. 3

Highlight your eyes with dramatic eye shadow, liner and mascara to draw the attention away from your nose. Or highlight your lips with a dramatic lip color. Just be sure not to dramatically highlight both your eyes and your lips—this is a look that could appear outdated.

  4. 4

Be sure you’re using the right color blush for your face—pink for fair skin and berry shades for darker skin. Also be sure to apply it correctly—from the apples of your cheeks to your temples for oval, square and heart-shaped face, and from the corners of your mouth to your temples for a round face.

  5. 5

Don’t over-pluck your eyebrows. The thinner and further apart your eyebrows are, the more attention it brings to your nose.

  6. 6

Part your hair on the side if you currently part it in the middle, as a middle part only draws attention to your nose. Also avoid slicking your hair back to make your nose look smaller. The fuller your hairstyle, the more attention it will draw away from your nose.
