A multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) is a type of text message that can contain multimedia content, including pictures. The Apple iPhone is compatible with MMS messaging and can receive MMS messages that contain pictures through the built-in Messages application. To receive an MMS message on your iPhone, your cellular service provider has to offer MMS messaging. In the United States, the iPhone is sold exclusively for use on the AT&T Wireless network, which does offer MMS messaging to its customers.
