How do I Convert 206 Headlights?

Updated February 21, 2017

If you are dissatisfied with the style and quality of your Peugeot 206 headlights, you can convert them with an aftermarket option, especially a High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlight. A HID headlight emits more light and lasts longer than factory-installed halogen headlights. They can be bought at most auto stores and through online vendors. No special tools are needed and no extraneous parts need to be removed to convert your Peugeot 206 headlights. Expect the whole process to take less than 30 minutes.

Turn the headlight switch to Off. Turn off the Peugeot 206 and prop open the bonnet with the bonnet-support rod.

Unplug the wiring harness from the rear of the headlight assembly by pressing down on the top tab and pulling it straight out of the headlight assembly.

Twist off the headlight socket and pull out the current headlight.

Connect the wiring harness you just removed to the ballast and connect the wiring harness that comes with the ballast to the new HID headlight.

Set the HID headlight in the same manner that the former headlight was set in the headlight assembly.

Attach the ballast to the rear of the headlight assembly using the double-sided adhesive tape that comes with the HID headlight conversion kit.
