Hi I'm James with JNC Home Repair. Today I'm going to talk about or actually I'm going to show you how to fix flushing problems with your toilet. The most common problem in a toilet that is not flushing properly is usually as simple as the chain that is hooked up to the flapper valve and to the handle. It has come loose or it has come undone. There is a real easy way to fix it. What you need to do is you are going to need a pair of needle nose pliers to actually perform this correctly. What you do is you remove the cover from the top of your tank and you look down in the bottom of the tank and you will actually see the chain just laying in there or sometimes it is underneath the flapper valve and what you do is you just get your chain and actually take your needle nose pliers and hook it back to the rod that is hooked to the handle. That little chain hooks in right there. Once you have got it back in place, when you push the handle down you will actually be able to lift the flapper valve up and it will actually start flushing again. That is the most common flushing problem on a toilet. If you have any questions, you can contact me at jnchomerepair.com.
